This session deconstructs cloud computing into its true value proposition. Traditional IT operations are buckling under the increased demand from business organizations. A significant change is needed. Game-changing strategies for IT organizations will be outlined to address this increase in demand. A "cloud" framework will be detailed that includes SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service). The session will cover specific customer value opportunities and provider market opportunities. We will build upon existing examples to provide real opportunities to ultimately enable the IT organization for enhanced flexibility and ultimate alignment with the business.
Speaker Bio:
Tim Crawford is an internationally renowned thought leader in the areas of Cloud Computing and IT Optimization Strategies. He has over 20 years of Information Technology experience in Operations, Infrastructure, Information Security and Core Applications. Areas of focus include Cloud Computing, Infrastructure Optimization and key game-changing strategies for IT organizations.He has held senior IT leadership roles with global organizations such as Stanford University, Knight-Ridder, Philips Electronics, and National Semiconductor.
Crawford speaks at industry conferences and has written for leading publications including InfoWorld, PC Magazine and VAR Business. He also serves on a number of boards including the Society for Information Management (SIM) San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, the Golden Gate University Alumni Association and Data Center Pulse.
He received an MBA in International Business with Honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems both from Golden Gate University.
